Japan trailed by just one point after ten minutes 23:24. China managed to pull away late in the first half. They went on a 14:2 run to ensure a 16-point lead at halftime. China maintained the lead throughout the third term. They secured a 71:54 advantage at the final intermission. China kept Japan at distance throughout the fourth term and rallied to the victory at the end. Wang Zhelin (215-C/F-94) provided 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Li Jinglong (195-F-95) added 15 points for the winning side. Masahiro Narita (185-SF-94) answered with 17 points for Japan. Yuta Osaka (179-PG-94) had 14 points in the loss.

Taiwan pulled ahead in the second quarter. They eked out a 35:32 halftime lead. But the third term proved decisive. Japan adjusted offensively and unleashed 22 points to surge ahead. They registered a 54:50 advantage at the final break. Taiwan worked hard to deny the deficit but Japan proved calm and accurate in the decisive moments to seal the winning outcome.
