Worth to mention about the upset in a game betweenAlbirex (17-11) and Earthfriends (9-19), which took place in Niigata. Higher ranked Albirex was outleveled at home by thirteenth ranked Earthfriends 102-79 on Sunday. Tokyo Z outrebounded Niigata A. 37-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. Tokyo Z looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The winners were led by American power forward Jeremy Combs (201-1995, college: Texas Southern) who scored that evening 32 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Jaycee Hillsman (200-1996, college: Illinois St.) supported him with 22 points and 5 rebounds. Even 16 points by American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198-1990, college: LBSU) did not help to save the game for Niigata A. . Center Mutombo Jean-Pierre (206-2002) added 11 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Four Niigata A. players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tokyo Z moved-up to eleventh place. Niigata A. at the other side keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost.
