Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Brave Thunders (2-12) were outplayed on the road by ninth ranked Chiba (5-9) 101-71 on Saturday. Chiba shot 62.1 percent from the field. Chiba outrebounded Kawasaki 38-15 including a 29-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Chiba especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Kawasaki's players. American center Dererk Pardon (203-1996, college: Northwestern) scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Luke Evans (203-1991, college: CBU) chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Chiba players scored in double figures. American center Emanuel Terry (206-1996, college: LMU) responded with 9 points and 5 rebounds and Australian forward Brock Motum (208-1990, college: WSU, agency: Slash Sports) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Chiba moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Kawasaki lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with Akita NH and Ibaraki R.. Chiba will meet at home Kawasaki (#13) in the next round where they are favorite. Kawasaki will have a break next round.
