There was no surprise when 10th rankedChiba (16-34) was crushed at home by sixth ranked 89ers (30-20) 104-80 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Sendai 89ers. Chiba managed to win fourth quarter 24-15 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 89ers looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American guard Jarrett Culver (198-1999, college: Texas Tech) scored 26 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Lebanese guard Sergio El Darwich (194-1996, college: Maine) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four 89ers players scored in double figures. American forward Trey Porter (210-1996, college: Nevada, agency: JCK Sports Group) responded with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import center Dererk Pardon (203-1996, college: Northwestern) scored 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sendai 89ers moved-up to fifth place, which they share with San-en NP. Chiba lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 34 games lost. They share it with FE Nagoya.
