Kagoshima keeps Gaines Jr. for another season

Kagoshima Rebnise (B2 League) re-signed 32-year-old American swingman Anthony Gaines Jr. (195cm-74kg-1993, college: LCU) for the 2026-27 season. He has played there for the last five seasons, having a good year as he was voted League Player of the Week four times and selected to the Asia-Basket.com All-Japanese B2 League Second Team.
He has also played professionally in Finland (Kobrat), Canada (London Lightning), and TBL (Mesquite Desert Dogs).
In 2025, Gaines' team was the regular season runner-up in the Japanese B2 League Group West. Gaines was voted to the Asia-Basket.com All-Japanese B2 League Honorable Mention in 2025.
He graduated from Louisiana Christian University in 2016 and this will be his eleventh (!!!) season as a professional player.
