Not a big story in a game in Tokyo where 9th ranked Alphas (16-28) were rolled over by second ranked Dolphins (35-9) 109-80 on Sunday. Nagoya DD made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Koshigaya A. turnovers. Nagoya DD looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Scott Eatherton (208-1991, college: Northeastern) who scored 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). The former international point guard Takumi Saito (172-1995) chipped in 14 points and 8 assists. Filipino-American center Kai Sotto (220-2002) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists and Kazakhstan-American point guard Anthony Clemmons (187-1994, college: Iowa) added 24 points respectively for the hosts. Five Nagoya DD and four Koshigaya A. players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dolphins have an impressive five-game winning streak. Nagoya DD keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Nagasaki. Loser Alphas keeps the ninth place with 28 games lost. Nagoya DD will meet at home Gunma CT (#5) in the next round. Koshigaya A. will play against Yokohama BC (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
