There was a surprise result in Shiga where eleventh rankedEvessa (3-4) beat 4th placed Lakestars (4-3) 80-72 on Sunday. It was a great evening for Ukrainian center Volodymyr Gerun (208-1994, college: Portland) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Matt Bonds (196-1995, college: St.Michael's) helped adding 13 points and 12 rebounds. Four Evessa players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Thomas Wimbush (201-1993, college: Fairmont St., agency: Slash Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and American-German power forward Ryan Kriener (208-1998, college: Iowa, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 19 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Osaka E. moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser Lakestars keep the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with 5 other teams.
