Very expected game when 14th rankedEarthfriends (3-13) lost to second ranked Albirex (12-6) in Tokyo 73-84 on Friday. Niigata A. outrebounded Tokyo Z 38-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American forward BJ Mack (203-2000, college: S.Carolina) who scored that evening 18 points and 6 rebounds and Aoi Higuchi supported him with 19 points and 4 assists. Albirex's coach Jun Uzawa used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 21 points and 8 rebounds by American forward Malik Benlevi (198-1997, college: Georgia St.) did not help to save the game for Tokyo Z . His fellow American import forward Jordan Bruner (208-1997, college: Alabama, agency: Diamond Sports) added 10 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Albirex have an impressive five-game winning streak. Niigata A. maintains second position with 12-6 record behind leader Tokushima Gam. Tokyo Z lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with 13 games lost.
