Regular Season Round 24: Nagasaki - Sunrockers Sh. 102-70

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Velca (22-2) outplayed 10th ranked SunRockers (8-16) in Nagasaki 102-70 on Saturday. Nagasaki looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by American Jarrell Brantley (201-1996, college: Charleston) who scored that evening 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import Stanley Johnson (201-1996, college: Arizona) supported him with 25 points and 8 assists. Even 14 points by American-Qatari forward Donte Grantham (203-1995, college: Clemson) did not help to save the game for Sunrockers Sh.. International forward Josh Hawkinson (208-1995, college: WSU) added 10 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Velca have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Nagasaki maintains first position with 22-2 record. Sunrockers Sh. lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Chiba. Nagasaki will meet at home Sunrockers Sh. (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sunrockers Sh. will have a break next round.
