Tochigi Brex Utsunomiya (B1 League) have agreed terms with experienced 58-year-old Italian coach Walter De Raffaele (agency: Octagon Europe). He most recently coached at Bertram Yachts Derthona Tortona in the Italian league. De Raffaele also coached for another Italian team, Bertram Yachts Derthona Tortona (Serie A).
De Raffaele has coached previously in Italy, including Umana Venezia, Sassari, and Livorno Libertas.
Among many awards, his team made it to the Italian Cup Final Four in 2021. He was also voted Eurobasket.com All-Italian Serie A Coach of the Year back in 2019.
