There was a minor upset in Hamamatsu where 6th ranked NeoPhoenix (5-5) was defeated by ninth ranked Ballooners (5-5) 85-73 on Wednesday. Saga B. looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American David Dudzinski (205-1992, college: Holy Cross) fired 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. chipped in 16 points and 9 assists. Five Ballooners players scored in double figures. American-Nigerian swingman David Nwaba (195-1993, college: Cal Poly) produced 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and American center Steve Zack (211-1992, college: La Salle) added 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Saga B. moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated San-en NP. Saga B. will meet at home Sea Horses M. (#7) in the next round. San-en NP will play against Kyoto H. and hope to secure a win.
