The most exciting game of round 4 in the B2 League took place in Matsuyama. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 7th rankedVeltex (1-3) to second ranked Orange Vikings (3-1) 79-76 in the game for the second place. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Ehime looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 30 personal fouls committed by Shizuoka helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. At the losing side Australian center Angus Brandt (208-1989, college: Oregon St.) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and Norwegian forward Chris-Ebou Ndow (199-1993, college: NW Missouri St.) scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Orange Vikings have a solid three-game winning streak. Ehime maintains second position with 3-1 record behind leader Kobe S., which they share with Fukushima. Shizuoka at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams.
