There was an upset when higher rankedBallooners (22-23) were edged by eleventh ranked Robots (14-31) in Saga 83-80 on Saturday. Ibaraki R. looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Robert Franks (205-1996, college: WSU) nailed 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import Eric Jacobsen (208-1994, college: Arizona St.) accounted for 15 points and 11 rebounds. American power forward Tanner Groves (208-1999, college: Oklahoma) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Taiki Sumida (182-1999) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively for Saga B. in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Ibaraki R. maintains eleventh place with 14-31 record, which they share with Kyoto H. Loser Ballooners dropped to the eighth position with 23 games lost.
