B1 League top team - Velca (20-2) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Dragonflies (12-10) in Hiroshima 105-74. Nagasaki dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Dragonflies's 28. Nagasaki looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Hiroshima D.'s players. American players dominated also this game. Stanley Johnson (201-1996, college: Arizona) nailed 32 points and 4 assists for the winning side and Jarrell Brantley (201-1996, college: Charleston) accounted for 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Velca players scored in double figures. Guard Christopher Smith (193-1994, college: Utah St.) came up with 18 points and forward Dwayne Evans (201-1992, college: St.Louis, agency: Pensack Sports) added 6 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Hiroshima D. in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Velca have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Nagasaki maintains first place with 20-2 record. Hiroshima D. lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. They share it with Alvark Tokyo and Shimane SM. Nagasaki will meet Shiga L-Stars (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hiroshima D. will play against Shimane SM (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
