Regular Season Round 23: Sunrockers Sh. - Chiba Jets 70-80

Not a big story in a game in Tokyo where 9th ranked SunRockers (8-15) were defeated by third ranked Jets (19-4) 80-70 on Sunday. It was a great evening for American forward John Mooney (206-1998, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward DJ Hogg (203-1996, college: Texas A&M) helped adding 17 points and 4 assists. American-Qatari forward Donte Grantham (203-1995, college: Clemson) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and international forward Josh Hawkinson (208-1995, college: WSU) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SunRockers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Jets. Chiba Jets keep a position of league leader, which they share with Hokkaido L. Sunrockers Sh. lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the ninth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Chiba. Chiba Jets will meet at home Kyoto H. (#12) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Sunrockers Sh. will play against the league's leader Nagasaki and hope to secure a win.
