Regular Season Round 9: Saga B. - Koshigaya A. 76-73

Everything could happen in Saga at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Ballooners and 9th ranked Alphas had identical 3-5 record. This time Ballooners used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Tokyo 76-73 on Sunday night. Saga B. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American power forward Tanner Groves (208-1999, college: Oklahoma) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import David Dudzinski (205-1992, college: Holy Cross) accounted for 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Ballooners players scored in double figures. Guinean-French Sekou Doumbouya (206-2000) came up with 30 points and 7 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and American power forward Gary Hamilton (208-1984, college: Miami, FL, agency: Inception Sports) added 2 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Koshigaya A. in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Saga B. (4-5) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser Alphas dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. They share it with FE Nagoya and Toyama G.. Saga B. will meet San-en NP (#6) in the next round. Koshigaya A. will play against Toyama G. (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
