Regular Season Round 27: Fukuoka R. - Shizuoka 76-88

There was a small surprise in Fukuoka where seventh ranked Veltex (6-21) defeated 5th ranked Rizing (11-16) 88-76 on Saturday. Shizuoka outrebounded Fukuoka R. 40-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. Shizuoka looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for Norwegian forward Chris-Ebou Ndow (199-1993, college: NW Missouri St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Australian center Angus Brandt (208-1989, college: Oregon St.) helped adding 12 points and 10 rebounds. Veltex's coach let to play all 12 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Spanish Pablo Aguilar (204-1989, agency: Octagon Europe) with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists and Puerto Rican-American swingman Davon Reed (198-1995, college: Miami, FL) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Five Shizuoka and four Fukuoka R. players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Veltex. Shizuoka moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Yamagata. Loser Rizing dropped to the fourth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Kumamoto V.. Shizuoka will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fukuoka R. will play against Shizuoka (#7) and hope to secure a win.
