Regular Season Round 23: Shimane SM - Hiroshima D. 96-88

Everything could happen in Shimane at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Magic and 5th ranked Dragonflies had identical 12-10 record. This time Magic used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Hiroshima 96-88 on Sunday night. Shimane SM made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Yuta Okada who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points and 4 assists. Australian Nick Kay (206-1992, college: MSU Denver) helped adding 17 points and 11 rebounds. American forward Dwayne Evans (201-1992, college: St.Louis, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import guard Christopher Smith (193-1994, college: Utah St.) scored 28 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Dragonflies' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Shimane SM (13-10) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Alvark Tokyo. Loser Dragonflies dropped to the sixth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Sendai 89ers. Shimane SM will meet Kawasaki (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hiroshima D. will play against Gunma CT (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
