Regular Season Round 14: San-en NP - Ryukyu GK 69-92

There was no surprise in Hamamatsu where 8th ranked NeoPhoenix (6-8) was crushed by sixth ranked Golden Kings (9-5) 92-69 on Saturday. Ryukyu made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. American forward Victor Law (201-1995, college: Northwestern, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 23 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Yoshiyuki Matsuwaki chipped in 21 points during the contest. Five Golden Kings players scored in double figures. American-Nigerian swingman David Nwaba (195-1993, college: Cal Poly) responded with 19 points and 9 rebounds and American center Steve Zack (211-1992, college: La Salle) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Golden Kings have a solid four-game winning streak. Ryukyu moved-up to third place, which they share with Shimane SM. Loser NeoPhoenix dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Sunrockers Sh. and Saga B.. Ryukyu will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. San-en NP will play against Ryukyu (#3) and hope to secure a win.
