Regular Season Round 1: Saga B. - Shiga L-Stars 92-68

Ballooners used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Shiga 92-68 on Saturday night. Saga B. looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Shiga L-Stars' players. American power forward Tanner Groves (208-1999, college: Oklahoma) stepped up and scored 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import David Dudzinski (205-1992, college: Holy Cross) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side American-German power forward Ryan Kriener (208-1998, college: Iowa, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and American forward Thomas Wimbush (201-1993, college: Fairmont St., agency: Slash Sports) scored 13 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ballooners will meet at home Shiga L-Stars in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Lakestars will have a break next round.
