Regular Season Round 15: Chiba - Kawasaki BT 88-76

No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Chiba (6-9) beat at home 13th ranked Brave Thunders (2-13) 88-76 on Sunday. Chiba outrebounded Kawasaki 40-26 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Chiba especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American Brandon Ashley (206-1994, college: Arizona) who led the winners and scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import center Dererk Pardon (203-1996, college: Northwestern) accounted for 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Five Chiba players scored in double figures. American center Emanuel Terry (206-1996, college: LMU) came up with 16 points and 4 assists and American-Lebanese guard Omar Jamaleddine (193-2000, college: SLC) added 13 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) respectively for Kawasaki in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chiba moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. Kawasaki lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with Akita NH and Ibaraki R.. Chiba will meet higher ranked Sendai 89ers (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kawasaki will play against Sunrockers Sh. (#8) and hope to secure a win.
