Regular Season Round 22: Akita NH - Sea Horses M. 67-79

Very expected game in Akita where 12th ranked Happinets (3-19) were defeated by third ranked SeaHorses (16-6) 79-67 on Saturday. Sea Horses M. looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American forward Jake Layman (206-1994, college: Maryland) fired 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. The other American import power forward Davante Gardner (203-1991, college: Marquette) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four SeaHorses players scored in double figures. International Yudai Baba (196-1995) produced 18 points and New Zealand-German center Yannick Wetzell (206-1996, college: SDSU) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SeaHorses have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Sea Horses M. maintains third position with 16-6 record having just two points less than leader Nagasaki. Akita NH lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 19 games lost. They share the position with Ibaraki R.. Sea Horses M. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Akita NH will play against Sea Horses M. (#3) and hope to secure a win.
