There was a minor upset when 4th rankedThunders (16-8) were outleveled by sixth ranked Dragonflies (13-11) in Gunma 88-65 on Saturday. Hiroshima D. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by American guard Christopher Smith (193-1994, college: Utah St.) who scored that evening 21 points and 5 assists and the other American import forward Dwayne Evans (201-1992, college: St.Louis, agency: Pensack Sports) supported him with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Dragonflies players scored in double figures. Dragonflies' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 27 points and 8 rebounds by American forward Kerry Blackshear Jr (208-1997, college: Florida) did not help to save the game for Gunma CT . Filipino-British power forward AJ Edu (208-2000, college: Toledo) added 7 points and 7 rebounds. Hiroshima D. maintains sixth position with 13-11 record, which they share with Sendai 89ers. Loser Thunders keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Ryukyu.
