Ryukyu Golden Kings Okinawa (B1 League) re-signed 36-year-old 172cm point guard Koya Kobari for the 2026-27 season. He played for them last season, averaging just 1.2ppg in 40 B1 League games. Kobari helped the team reach the Japanese League final. He also played 3 games in the East Asia Super League, averaging 2.0ppg and 2.3apg. In the 2024-25 season, Kobari played for another Japanese team, Brave Thunders.
He also played at Velca. Kobari is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of the last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Golden Kings.
