There was a minor upset when 4th placedSapporo (3-2) was smashed by sixth ranked Thunders (3-2) in Gunma 99-72 on Wednesday. Gunma CT looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Hokkaido L. 's players. American guard Trey McKinney-Jones (198-1990, college: Miami, FL) nailed 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and German Johannes Thiemann (206-1994) accounted for 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward John Harrar (205-1999, college: Penn State) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and international guard Keisei Tominaga (188-2001, college: Nebraska) added 17 points respectively for Hokkaido L. in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gunma CT moved-up to third place, which they share with 7 other teams including defeated Hokkaido L. .
