B1 League top team - Velca (20-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed tenth ranked Lakestars (9-13) in Shiga 107-82. Nagasaki players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. International Yudai Baba (196-1995) notched 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and American Stanley Johnson (201-1996, college: Arizona) supported him with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Five Velca players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds by Greek-American center Zach Auguste (208-1993, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) did not help to save the game for Shiga L-Stars. American forward Thomas Wimbush (201-1993, college: Fairmont St., agency: Slash Sports) added 23 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Velca have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Nagasaki maintains first position with 20-2 record. Shiga L-Stars lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with 13 games lost. They share the position with 6 other teams. Nagasaki will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shiga L-Stars will play at home against the league's leader Nagasaki (#1) and hope to get back on the winning track.
