Rather expected game in Yamaguchi where 11th rankedPats Five (3-9) was crushed by ninth ranked Swoops (6-4) 87-67 on Sunday. Gifu outrebounded Yamaguchi 40-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. Gifu looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Blake Preston (206-2000, college: Northwestern) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. American center Even Brauns (206-2002, college: Iowa, agency: Diamond Sports) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds and Shuto Kishinaga added 13 points, 11 assists and 5 steals respectively for the hosts. Five Gifu and four Yamaguchi players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Gifu moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Tachikawa. Loser Pats Five dropped to the twelfth position with nine games lost.
