No shocking result in a game in Kanagawa where ninth ranked United (9-8) defeated 13th ranked Shinagawa (4-13) 90-77 on Saturday. Shanan Utd dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Shinagawa's 26. Shanan Utd looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American center Jacob Polakovich (208-2000, college: S.Indiana) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Christian Cunningham (201-1997, college: Jax State) chipped in 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five United players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Victor Hart (203-2001, college: Southern Miss) with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and Lithuanian Grantas Vasiliauskas (204-1999) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Shanan Utd moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Gifu. Loser Shinagawa dropped to the fourteenth position with 13 games lost. Shanan Utd will again meet at home Shinagawa (#14) in the next round where they are favorite. Shinagawa will have a break next round.
