There was no surprise when 12th rankedHannaryz (6-16) was outleveled by fifth ranked Magic (12-10) in Kyoto 81-57 on Wednesday. Shimane SM outrebounded Kyoto H. 40-24 including a 27-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Shimane SM looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Australian Nick Kay (206-1992, college: MSU Denver) nailed 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winning side and American forward Coty Clarke (201-1992, college: Arkansas, agency: Slash Sports) accounted for 14 points and 11 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Five Magic players scored in double figures. American Jarell Martin (208-1994, college: LSU) came up with 11 points and the former international swingman Takatoshi Furukawa (190-1987) added 9 points respectively for Kyoto H. in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
