There was no surprise in Saitama where 5th rankedAlbirex (32-20) was defeated by third ranked Broncos (39-13) 104-86 . Saitama dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Albirex 's 42. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Trent Buttrick (206-1998, college: UMass) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Kennedy Meeks (208-1995, college: UNC) contributed with 24 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) for the winners. Four Broncos players scored in double figures. American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198-1990, college: LBSU) answered with 25 points and 7 rebounds and American Dominique Morrison (198-1989, college: ORU, agency: Haylett Sports) added 18 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Niigata A.Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Saitama moved-up to second place, which they share with Tokushima Gam. Niigata A. at the other side keeps the fifth position with 20 games lost.
