Regular Season Round 48: Shiga L-Stars - Chiba 92-85

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when tenth ranked Lakestars (18-30) beat 9th ranked Chiba (16-32) in Shiga 92-85 on Saturday. Shiga L-Stars looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by American forward Thomas Wimbush (201-1993, college: Fairmont St., agency: Slash Sports) who scored that evening 22 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and guard Yosei Nishida (185-2002) supported him with 15 points. Even 15 points and 9 rebounds by American center Dererk Pardon (203-1996, college: Northwestern) did not help to save the game for Chiba. The former international Luke Evans (203-1991, college: CBU) added 17 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Shiga L-Stars maintains tenth position with 18-30 record. Newly promoted Chiba keeps the ninth place with 32 games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Shiga L-Stars will again meet at home higher ranked Chiba (#9) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Chiba will have a break next round.
