Everything went according to plan in Hiroshima where fifth ranked Dragonflies (24-16) edged 9th ranked Alphas (15-25) 92-89 on Saturday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Hiroshima D. made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game, while Koshigaya A. only scored nine points from the stripe. Jamaican center Kofi Cockburn (213-1999, college: Illinois) fired 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. American forward Dwayne Evans (201-1992, college: St.Louis, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Kazakhstan-American point guard Anthony Clemmons (187-1994, college: Iowa) produced 25 points and 4 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and point guard Shun Matsuyama (175-1996) added 21 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Five Hiroshima D. and four Koshigaya A. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Dragonflies have an impressive five-game winning streak.
