Sixth-ranked89ers (35-24) made lots of trouble for second ranked Thunders (41-18) in Gunma. Thunders managed to secure only one-point victory 83-82 . However their fans expected much easier game. Gunma CT players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. American forward Kerry Blackshear Jr (208-1997, college: Florida) saved the victory by scoring 27 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Kenny Asano (197-2002) contributed with 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American guard Jarrett Culver (198-1999, college: Texas Tech) answered with 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Lebanese guard Sergio El Darwich (194-1996, college: Maine) added 20 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Sendai 89ers. 89ers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gunma CT maintains second place with 41-18 record having four points less than leader Nagasaki, which they share with 4 other teams. Sendai 89ers at the other side dropped to the fifth position with 24 games lost. They share it with San-en NP.
