DPR Korea rolled past Mongolia in Group E of the Asian Games preliminary round. Jin Pak Myong (191-F-82) scored 23 points to lead the effort. DPR Korea improved at 1-3 record after the win. Mongolia on the other hand slipped at 1-3 record. The teams stayed close early on but DPR Korea went on a run late in the opening frame to take a 24:18 lead after ten minutes. DPR Korea maintained a 6-point lead for some time but it was Mongolia who uttered the last word in the first half. They burst out with a bunch of points to trim the deficit at just two points 34:36. DPR Korea went off the dressing room recharged and immediately broke free. They dominated in the period securing a 60:49 advantage with one quarter remaining. DPR Korea stretched the margin at 18-point mark midway through the fourth term and never looked back en route to the win. Chol Pak Un (185-G-81) produced 22 points and 6 boards for DPR Korea. Jin Hyok O (183-G-84) accounted for 10 points in the win. Sanchir Tungalag (188-G-89) answered with 15 points for Mongolia. Sedbazar Shinen (191-F-81) netted 13 points and collected 9 rebounds in the loss.
