IHC Apes (MBL) landed 28-year old South Sudanese-Australian ex-international 208cm center Deng Acuoth. He started the season at Kalleh in Iranian Superleague.
Part of last summer he spent at Thunder in Australian NBL One where in 10 games he averaged 12.5ppg, 11.3rpg and 1.7bpg. He was a member of South Sudanese Senior National Team between 2020 and 2023.
Acuoth is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in six different countries playing on three different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian and Australian leagues. Acuoth has played previously in Australia (Adelaide 36ers, Kings, Tigers, Miners and Raiders), Bahrain (Al-Muharraq), Georgia (Margveti), Iran, Lebanon (Sagesse) and Qatar (Al Arabi).
Among many awards he won Australian NBL1 National championship title in 2023. He was also voted to Eurobasket.com All-Caucasus Basketball League Defensive Player of the Year back in 2022.
