Selenge inks Ahmad Gilbert

Ahmad Gilbert

Selenge Bodons Sukhbaatar (MBL) agreed terms with 28-year old American forward Ahmad Gilbert (200cm-98kg-1996, college: St.Thomas, FL) for new 2024-25 season. He played last season at Reading Rebels (TBL) in the U.S. In 7 games just recently he had 8.6ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.6apg. He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in Atlantic Northeast Division. The last season he played at Al Hilla (Superleague) in Iraqi league where in 20 games he recorded very impressive stats: 19.9ppg, 12.3rpg and 3.1apg.
Gilbert is quite experienced player. He has played in five different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). Gilbert has played previously professionally in Finland (Raiders Basket), Iceland (Stjarnan and Hrunamenn), Iraq, TBL (Tri-State Admirals) and The Basketball Tournament (Big 5).
Among many awards he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Finnish 1st Division A Honorable Mention in 2022.
He graduated from Saint Thomas University in 2020 and it will be his fifth season as a professional player. Gilbert played for other colleges like: Rider University, University of Minnesota.
