MBL Round 11 (Regular Season): #1 Xac Broncos are defeated by Metal

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Broncos (13-2) in Ulaanbaatar on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by fifth ranked Metal (7-6) 75-64. Metal made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Metal outrebounded Xac Broncos 38-27 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American power forward Devon Scott (205-1994, college: Dayton) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. International guard Enkhbayasgalan Amarbayasgalan (195-1997) helped adding 14 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Jordan Tolbert (200-1992, college: SMU) responded with 9 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Metal moved-up to fourth place. Xac Broncos at the other side still keep top position with two games lost. Metal are looking forward to face higher ranked Knights (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Xac Broncos will have a break next round.
The game in Uliastai was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Knights (7-5) played at the court of 6th ranked Brothers (5-5). Knights managed to secure a 6-point victory 91-85. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Brothers. It was an exceptional evening for Arunbold Temujin who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. Lance Thomas accounted for 20 points. American guard McKenzie Moore (198-1992, college: UTEP) came up with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for Brothers in the defeat. Knights moved-up to third place. Brothers at the other side keep the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Apes. Knights will play against Metal (#4) in Ulaanbaatar in the next round. Brothers will play on the road against UB TLG in Ulaanbaatar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The best player for the winners was Justin Moss who scored 35 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Kenny Wooten Jr. produced a double-double by scoring 27 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Bison maintains ninth place with 5-10 record. Loser UB TLG keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Bison will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. UB TLG will play against Brothers (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 11 Darkhan won against Miners on the opponent's court 89-84.



Miners - Darkhan 84-89

Rather expected game in Erdenet where 10th ranked Miners (3-10) were defeated by seventh ranked United (6-5) 89-84 on Thursday. The best player for the winners was American forward Terran Petteway (198-1992, college: Nebraska, agency: MSG) who scored 26 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Tae Hardy (190, college: UTEP) chipped in 26 points. Nigerian-American power forward Maxie Esho (206-1991, college: UMass) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and Togaldur Sedbazar added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Miners players scored in double figures. Darkhan moved-up to fifth place. Loser Miners stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Darkhan will meet Apes (#6) in the next round. Miners will play against the league's second-placed Selenge (#2) and hope to secure a win.

Ninth ranked Bizon (5-10) beat at home 8th ranked UB TLG (5-9) by 12 points 101-89, which is the biggest margin this round on Thursday night. Bison shot 63.3 percent from the field. Bison had a 31-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Justin Moss (203-1993, college: Buffalo) who scored 35 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Tulga Elbeg chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Four Bizon players scored in double figures. American forward Kenny Wooten Jr. (204-1998, college: Oregon) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and Avirmed Lhagva added 21 points and 7 assists respectively for the guests.
