MBL Round 7 (Regular Season): Brothers beat Darkhan by two after a very close game

Coincidentally all visitors won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 7 in the MBL took place in Darkhan. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 3rd placed United (5-4) to eighth ranked Brothers (3-3) 83-81 on Saturday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Diamond Stone (208-1997, college: Maryland) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds. Uuganbayar Chinguun contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Terran Petteway (198-1992, college: Nebraska, agency: MSG) answered with 43 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds for Darkhan. Brothers moved-up to seventh place. Darkhan at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. They share it with Selenge.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Ulaanbaatar: Broncos (#1) and UB TLG (#6). UB TLG was defeated at home 74-80 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It was a great evening for international forward Altangerel Azbayar (202-2005) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 7 rebounds. Jordan Tolbert helped adding 13 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Kenny Wooten Jr. (204-1998, college: Oregon) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Undefeated Broncos (10-0) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Xac Broncos maintains first place with a perfect record of 10 victories in a row. UB TLG lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with six games lost.
An interesting game for Broncos (10-0) which played road game in Sukhbaatar against 4th placed Bodons (5-4). Leader Broncos managed to get a 9-point victory 65-56. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Bodons. It was an exceptional evening for Temuulen Chingis who led the winners and scored 14 points. Jeantal Cylla came up with 20 points for Selenge in the defeat. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Broncos. Xac Broncos maintains first place with 10-0 record. Loser Bodons dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with Darkhan.

Other games in round 7 were not that significant. Selenge smashed Bison on the road 91-66. Bottom-ranked Miners lost to Metal on its own court 74-83. Xac Broncos managed to outperform Brothers in Ulaanbaatar 86-80. UB TLG recorded a loss to Miners at home 89-90. Metal defeated Apes on the opponent's court 82-75.
The most impressive performance of 7th round was 25 points by Uuganbayar Tumenbayar of Metal.



Bison - Selenge 66-91

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Bodons (5-4) crushed 7th ranked Bizon (3-7) in Nalaikh 91-66 on Tuesday. Selenge made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for Haitian forward Jeantal Cylla (201-1996, college: Arkansas) who led the winners and scored 35 points (!!!). American forward Ahmad Gilbert (200-1996, college: St.Thomas, FL) accounted for 28 points for the winning side. Shinibileg Munkh-Erdene came up with 15 points and Tulga Elbeg added 10 points (made all of his eight free throws) respectively for Bison in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Bodons. Selenge moved-up to third place, which they share with Darkhan. Bison lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost.

Miners - Metal 74-83

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Miners' (2-8) home loss to ninth ranked Metal (3-5) in Erdenet 74-83 on Tuesday. It was an exceptional evening for B Wesley who led the winners and scored 29 points. American power forward Devon Scott (205-1994, college: Dayton) accounted for 16 points for the winning side. Five Metal players scored in double figures. Nigerian-American power forward Maxie Esho (206-1991, college: UMass) came up with 17 points and 9 rebounds and international guard Bolor-Erdene Gantsolmon (183-2003) added 20 points respectively for Miners in the defeat. Metal moved-up to eighth place. Loser Miners stay at the bottom position with eight games lost.

Very predictable result when leader Broncos (10-0) won against 8th ranked Brothers (3-3) in Uliastai 86-80 on Thursday. Xac Broncos made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for guard Tushig Elbeg (180-2001) who led the winners and scored 16 points. Formula B accounted for 14 points for the winning side. Five Broncos players scored in double figures. American power forward Diamond Stone (208-1997, college: Maryland) came up with 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and Uuganbayar Chinguun added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Brothers in the defeat. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Broncos. Xac Broncos maintains first place with 10-0 record. Brothers lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with three games lost.

There was an upset when higher ranked UB TLG (4-6) was edged by bottom-ranked Miners (2-8) in Ulaanbaatar 90-89 on Thursday. Miners made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Miners outrebounded UB TLG 22-11 including a 17-4 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Nigerian-American power forward Maxie Esho (206-1991, college: UMass) who led the winners and scored 29 points and 8 rebounds. M Moore accounted for 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Bathuyag A came up with 24 points and American forward Kenny Wooten Jr. (204-1998, college: Oregon) added 21 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) respectively for UB TLG in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Miners maintains tenth place with 2-8 record. UB TLG lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with six games lost.

An interesting game for Broncos (10-0) which played road game in Sukhbaatar against 4th placed Bodons (5-4). Leader Broncos managed to get a 9-point victory 65-56. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Bodons. Strangely Selenge outrebounded Xac Broncos 23-8 including a 16-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Temuulen Chingis who led the winners and scored 14 points. The former international Saruul-Erdene Enkhbaatar (-1999) accounted for 14 points for the winning side. Four Broncos players scored in double figures. Haitian forward Jeantal Cylla (201-1996, college: Arkansas) came up with 20 points and American forward Ahmad Gilbert (200-1996, college: St.Thomas, FL) added 19 points respectively for Selenge in the defeat. There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Metal (3-5) defeated on the road higher ranked Apes (4-3) 82-75 on Sunday. Metal dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Apes' 42. It was an exceptional evening for international point guard Uuganbayar Tumenbayar (180-1998) who led the winners and scored 25 points. B Wesley accounted for 23 points for the winning side. Guamanian-American guard Earnest Ross (198-1991, college: Missouri, agency: Haylett Sports) came up with 22 points and 9 rebounds and Nyamdorj Ganbaatar (189-2000) added 17 points respectively for Apes in the defeat. Metal moved-up to eighth place. Loser Apes keep the fifth position with three games lost.
