MBL Round 10 (Regular Season): Xac Broncos beat Miners by three after a very close game

Tenth-ranked Miners (3-9) were very close to win a game against first ranked Broncos (13-1) in Ulaanbaatar on Tuesday. Broncos managed to secure only three-point victory 79-76. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Miners. Xac Broncos made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Miners 39-22 including 27 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jordan Tolbert (200-1992, college: SMU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds. International forward Altangerel Azbayar (202-2005) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Nigerian-American power forward Maxie Esho (206-1991, college: UMass) replied with 18 points and 6 rebounds for Miners. Xac Broncos maintains first position with 13-1 record. Miners at the other side stay at the bottom place with nine games lost. Xac Broncos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Ulaanbaatar to the arena Metal.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Knights (6-5) against eighth ranked Apes (5-5) on Wednesday night. Host Knights were defeated by Apes in 82-67. International guard Ulzii Myagmarsuren (181-2000) scored 26 points and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Shinebayar B chipped in 15 points and 15 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) during the contest. At the losing side American guard Pendarvis Williams (198-1991, college: Norfolk St.) responded with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Apes moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Darkhan. Knights at the other side keep the third position with five games lost. Apes will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Knights will play on the road against Brothers in Uliastai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game for Bodons (7-4) which played road game in Ulaanbaatar against 4th ranked Metal (6-6). Third ranked Bodons managed to get a 4-point victory 90-86. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Metal. Jeantal Cylla notched 32 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort. Even 26 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists by B Wesley did not help to save the game for Metal. Selenge moved-up to second place. Loser Metal keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Selenge will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Metal's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Ulaanbaatar Xac Broncos.

In the last game of round 10 Bison was beaten by Brothers on the road 89-83.

Brothers - Bison 89-83

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Brothers (5-4) beat 9th ranked Bizon (4-10) in Uliastai 89-83 on Tuesday. American players dominated the game. Power forward Diamond Stone (208-1997, college: Maryland) notched a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and guard McKenzie Moore (198-1992, college: UTEP) supported him with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Even 22 points and 9 rebounds by power forward Justin Moss (203-1993, college: Buffalo) did not help to save the game for Bison. Center Kyree Walker (198-2000) added 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Four Bison players scored in double figures. Brothers moved-up to fifth place. Loser Bizon keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. Brothers will meet at home higher ranked Knights (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bison will play against UB TLG (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
