Khulegud delivered a commanding performance in Game 2 of the Mongolian Basketball League Finals, blowing out Selenge Bodons 87-62 behind a dominant defensive effort and balanced scoring attack. Khulegud took control early and never looked back, building a 75-52 lead through three quarters before coasting to the finish. The 25-point margin underlined the gulf between the sides on the night, as Selenge struggled to find any offensive rhythm against a suffocating Khulegud defense. Captain Ikhbayar Chuluunbaatar (194-F-2000) led Khulegud with an efficient outing, connecting on 4-of-7 from three-point range in 26 minutes as the floor general set the tone from the opening tip. Barsbold Baatar-Erdene (183-G-2004) was a force at both ends with a game-best +20 plus-minus rating, finishing with 4-of-10 from the field including two triples. contributed heavily, going 7-of-8 from the free-throw line while pulling down a team-high eight rebounds — including five on the defensive end. Tushig Elbeg (180-G-2001) added further perimeter damage with 3-of-7 from deep off the bench, while Temuulen Chinges (195-SF-2004) was ultra-efficient with 3-of-5 shooting in 17 minutes. Selenge Bodons were let down by a dreadful shooting night. The team managed just 23-of-65 from the field (35.4%) and a woeful 6-of-27 from three-point range (22.2%), numbers that made any comeback impossible. They did convert 10-of-13 from the free-throw line (76.9%), but simply did not get to the stripe enough to offset the shooting struggles. Tulga Otgondari (180-PG-2000) was the bright spot for Selenge with a team-high 15 points on 6-of-16 shooting, going 6-of-12 from inside the arc and a perfect 3-of-3 from the line. Anand Ariunbold (197-F-1997) added nine points with two three-pointers, while was a perfect 3-of-3 from the field in limited minutes for nine points. However, the supporting cast was largely invisible. Starting guard J Scrub shot a dismal 2-of-8 for just five points, and captain went scoreless on 0-of-5 shooting in just over six minutes. DeMarcus Cousins (211-C-1990, college: Kentucky) was held in check with five points on 2-of-4 shooting and finished with a game-worst -29 plus-minus rating in 22 minutes. Khulegud dominated the glass and the tempo throughout, with their defense forcing Selenge into difficult contested shots all evening. The plus-minus numbers told the story — nearly every Selenge starter finished deep in the negative.
