Toros de Aragua (SPB) strengthened their roster with addition of 27-year old American point guard Malik Maitland (175cm-79kg-1996, college: BCU) for season 2024. Maitland played most recently at Bison in Mongolian MBL league.
He has played previously professionally in Spain (Zamora) and Venezuela (Gaiteros).
His team was regular season runner-up in OVC East Division in 2017.
Maitland is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.
He graduated from Bethune-Cookman University in 2020 and it will be his fourth season as a professional player. Maitland played also for Morehead State University for 2 years.
