MBL Round 12 (Regular Season): Brothers edge UB TLG by three points

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 12 in the MBL took place in Ulaanbaatar. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 8th ranked UB TLG (5-10) to seventh ranked Brothers (6-5) 89-86 on Tuesday evening. Brothers looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Diamond Stone (208-1997, college: Maryland) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 15 rebounds. The other American import guard McKenzie Moore (198-1992, college: UTEP) chipped in 12 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Kenny Wooten Jr. (204-1998, college: Oregon) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points, 13 rebounds and 7 blocks. Brothers moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Apes. UB TLG at the other side keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Bison.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Knights (7-6) against fourth ranked Metal (8-6) on Tuesday night. Visiting Knights were defeated by Metal in Ulaanbaatar 81-63. It was a good game for B Wesley who led his team to a victory with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Devon Scott contributed with 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American guard Pendarvis Williams (198-1991, college: Norfolk St.) replied with 12 points and 6 rebounds for Knights. Metal moved-up to third place. Knights at the other side dropped to the fourth position with six games lost.

Worth to mention a great performance of Kris Clyburn who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Terran Petteway with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists. Apes moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Brothers. Loser United dropped to the seventh position with six games lost.

In the last game of round 12 Selenge defeated Miners in Sukhbaatar 84-67.



Miners - Selenge 67-84

There was no surprise in Erdenet where 10th ranked Miners (3-11) were defeated by second ranked Bodons (8-4) 84-67 on Sunday. Worth to mention a great performance of Haitian forward Jeantal Cylla (201-1996, college: Arkansas) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Ahmad Gilbert (200-1996, college: St.Thomas, FL) who added 19 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Nigerian-American power forward Maxie Esho (206-1991, college: UMass) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Shamorie Ponds (185-1998, college: St.John's) scored 17 points. Bodons have a solid three-game winning streak. Selenge maintains second position with 8-4 record having eight points less than leader Xac Broncos. Miners lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 11 games lost.

The best for the losing side was American forward Terran Petteway (198-1992, college: Nebraska, agency: MSG) with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists and his fellow American import guard Tae Hardy (190, college: UTEP) scored 21 points. Five Apes and four Darkhan players scored in double figures. Apes moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Brothers. Loser United dropped to the seventh position with six games lost.

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Knights (7-6) against fourth ranked Metal (8-6) on Tuesday night. Visiting Knights were defeated by Metal in Ulaanbaatar 81-63. Metal dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Knights' 32. It was a good game for B Wesley who led his team to a victory with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. American power forward Devon Scott (205-1994, college: Dayton) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners.
