They eked out a 27:24 lead after a high-scoring first quarter. Turkmenistan adjusted their defense in the second term. They erased the deficit and drew things level at 46. However Mongolia speeded up in the third quarter. They outscored Turkmenistan 24:19 in the term establishing a 5-point advantage. The teams traded baskets in the final quarter with neither side able to dominate. Mongolia proved calmer in the dying seconds and snatched a tough win at the end. Sedbazar Shinen (191-F-81) scored 22 points and grabbed 9 rebounds to lead Mongolia. Ikhbayar Ganbaatar (180-G-83) added 15 points, 6 assists and 4 boards in the win. Aleksandr Pashkov (191-G-85) replied with 25 points for Turkmenistan. Toyli Bayriyev (188-G-84) finished with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the loss.
