South Korea kept their record spotless at the U16 Asia Championship. They held off India tonight to take 4-0 record in Qualifying Round Group E. Satnam Singh Bhamara (216-C-95) erupted for 41 points for India but it was not enough to stop the Korean unbeaten run. Heo Hoon (181-G-95) delivered 31 points to pace the winners. The teams stayed close throughout the opening quarter. South Korea eked out a 16:14 lead after ten minutes of action. India however surged ahead in the second quarter. They pulled in front for a 34:31 halftime lead. The roller-coaster action continued in the third term. South Korea erased the deficit and the teams entered the final stanza tied at 47. But the Korean side proved stronger in the final minutes. They dropped 29 points in the fourth period to snatch a tough win at the end. Kim Gookchan (193-F-96) posted 18 points for South Korea. Park Intae (203-C-95) added 9 points in the winning case. Ajay Pratap Singh (193-F-95) had 13 points for India in the loss.

Meanwhile, Rikin impressed with 23 points to steer his side to the title clash as IOB prevailed 86-60.
Maharashtra women again relied on Manisha Dange, Shireen and Renu Mourya as they set up a meeting with Tamil Nadu. The trio scored a total of 47 points as Maharashtra pipped South Eastern Railway (Bilaspur) 71-70. Tamil Nadu had an easier outing, getting past Kerala 75-55.
Meanwhile, the Karnataka State Basketball Association felicitated as many as 42 former and current state cagers and coaches in a small ceremony at the stadium. Among those feted and presented a memento were K Rajagopal, who represented India between 1969 and 1970 and G Dilip, the only Karnataka player to have represented India in the Olympics (Moscow 1980).
Later, Indian national head coach Scott Flemming said he would hold a coaching clinic for kids on Sunday. KSBBA then announced it would hold an open three-point shooting competition with winners set to claim Rs 10,000.

Punjab were unable to trigger the intrigue in the third term. Uttarakhand team rallied to a comfortable 58:41 lead at the final intermission. Punjab struggled to get any closer in the fourth frame as Uttarakhand cruised to the victory. Krishnan Murli and Vishesh Bhriguvanshi (193-G-91) posted 15 points each in the win. Singh Satnam answered with 19 points and 13 boards for Punjab. Ranbir Singh and Talwinder finished with 13 points each in the loss.
