INBL Round 3 (Regular Season): Hyderabad F. lose their first game against Titans

Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most surprising game was a loss of Falcons (3-1) in Mumbai on Monday night. Visitors were defeated by Titans (2-2) 95-79. Mumbai T. dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Falcons's 38. Mumbai T. forced 19 Hyderabad F. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for New Zealand forward Liam Judd (196-2001) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Italian-Filipino guard Dalph Panopio (185-2000, college: CSUB) helped adding 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was American point guard Alex Robinson (185-1995, college: TCU) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Titans is looking forward to face Delhi on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Falcons will play against Gujarat S. and are hoping to win this game.

It was an exceptional evening for New Zealand-Australian forward Elijah Puna (201-2000) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds. Liam Judd accounted for 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Australian point guard Tad Dufelmeier (183-1996, college: CUI) came up with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for Chennai H. in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Titans will play against Delhi on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Heat will play against Hyderabad F. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

At the other side the best for losing team was Alexander Mudronja who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Stallions will meet at home Hyderabad F. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Dribblers will play against Mumbai T. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 3 Punjab W. lost to Hyderabad F. on the opponent's court 84-88.

Very significant was Stallions' (#1, 2-2) victory against Dribblers (2-2) 95-90. They outrebounded Delhi 44-12 including a 32-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Trendon Hankerson (188-2000, college: Akron, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) who scored 26 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. His fellow American import forward Nate Roberts (211-2000, college: Washington) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds. Five Stallions players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Australian guard Alexander Mudronja (196-1999, college: SMC) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists and American forward Chris Washburn (203-1993, college: TCU, agency: Interperformances) added 0 points and 4 assists respectively. Very expected game in Hyderabad where Warriors (1-3) were defeated by Falcons (3-1) 88-84 on Tuesday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Hyderabad F. looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was Australian forward Jack Purchase (203-1995, college: Hawaii) who scored 32 points and 6 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). American point guard Alex Robinson (185-1995, college: TCU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Australian point guard Lucas Barker (183-1993, college: Indianapolis) who recorded 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and American power forward Stokley Chaffee (204-1996, college: Tennessee St.) added 21 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Falcons will meet Gujarat S. (#4) on the road in the next round. Warriors will play against Delhi and hope to win that game.
