Carmel CMI Public School and Providence GHSS Clinch Don Bosco Inter-School Basketball Titles

Irinjalakuda: The Don Bosco Inter-School Basketball Tournament concluded on a high note at the Don Bosco Indoor Stadium on Monday, with Carmel CMI Public School, Vazhakulam and Providence GHSS, Kozhikode emerging champions in the boys’ and girls’ divisions respectively.

In the boys’ final, Carmel CMI PS powered past Lourdes Public School, Kottayam, with a 77-61 victory. Leading scorers for Carmel included Albert Reji (21 points) and Akshay Jacob (20), ably supported by Adheep Ajoy (15). Despite a spirited effort from Lourdes’ Joel Alenchery (30 points), Carmel held firm to seal the crown.

In the girls’ final, Providence GHSS showcased their dominance with an emphatic 81-57 win over Silver Hills Public School, Kozhikode. Arthika was the star of the show with 31 points, while Sriya (29) and Claudia Onden (16) added to the tally. Silver Hills’ fight was led by Abhinav S. Binoy (57), but Providence’s balance and firepower proved decisive.

The tournament saw spirited participation from schools across Kerala and highlighted the strong pipeline of basketball talent at the grassroots. Both Carmel and Providence, with their consistent performances, reaffirmed their reputations as leading nurseries of basketball in the state.
