WAYANAD: Defending champion Thiruvananthapuram boys confirmed a place in the quarterfinals of the 49th State junior basketball championships at Mullankolly on Wednesday. Thiruvananthapuram edged out Malappuram 62-60 and later drubbed Pathamthitta 67-26. Alappuzha, which beat Pathanamthitta and Malappuram, also joined Thiruvananthapuram in the last-eight stage.
