Tamil Nadu boys and Maharashtra girls triumph

Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra bagged the boys’ and girls’ titles respectively in the 40th National youth basketball championships in Puducherry on Wednesday.

In the boys’ final, Tamil Nadu dethroned Rajasthan 96-85, while Maharashtra also beat defending champion Karnataka 76-49 in the girls” summit clash.

The tournament’s most valuable player in boys’ section was awarded to V.Sumanesh of Tamil Nadu while Reva Kulkarni of Maharashtra received the award in the girls’ section.

The results: Boys:Final: Tamil Nadu bt Rajasthan 96-85.

Bronze medal match: Haryana bt Delhi 95-78.

Girls:Final: Maharashtra bt Karnataka 76-49.

Bronze medal match: Tamil Nadu bt Chhattisgarh 95-69
