With an all-win record, Tamil Nadu bagged the South Asian Basketball Association (SABA) Club Championship here on Monday. In its fourth and last league match, TN thrashed T-Rex BC (Maldives) 106-49. Colombo BC finished second while Times Club (Nepal) came third.

Tamil Nadu has qualified for the FIBA West Asia League to be held in Lebanon from May 2 to 8.

Tamil Nadu's head coach C. V. Sunny said. "the SABA title-win was expected. But it would be tough this time at the West Asia League as there are teams from Kuwait and Qatar. Last time, we lost in the group stages. This time, we would like to qualify for the knockouts. To make it happen, we have recruited two from USAone centre training in Italy and the power forward playing in playing in College, as guest players. We are trying to get the foreign players for the coaching camp for five days to be held in Chennai in a week or two."

The results: Tamil Nadu 106 (E. Anantharaj 20, Aravind Muthukumar 15, Justin Joseph 15, Muin Bek 14) bt T-Rex BC (Maldives) 49 (Ismail Vildhan 14).
