BFI launches India's first professional basketball league for men, women in both 5x5, 3x3 formats

To make basketball popular in the country, the Basketball Federation of India (BFI) will soon start India's first professional league - a first in its 74-year history. The BFI on Thursday announced four multiple level leagues, including a professional event for men and women titled the National Star Basketball League (NSBL) of India in both the 5x5 and 3x3 formats. In addition to the NSBL, where international players will be in action, the BFI will also organize National U-23 Pro League for men and women, and the National College, School Leagues for boys and girls in both the half and full court formats.
